L’Occitane gave Glid Studio the opportunity to create a fun & engaging campaign where one of their best seller products, the Shea Cream, becomes a Sculptural Icon in well known typical French destinations. These spontanious moments, with an improvised & casual filming style, fit perfectly for a global social media campaign, and makes us all believe that those creams are really there.

We had an incredible time crafting these visuals, and we’re excited to share the results with you!

The process.

Storyboarding before shooting.

Although the videos have a spontanious vibe by design, there was a lot of planning before the shooting.

We sat down and built a storyboard with different ideas for each scenario, from composition, to transitions, sound design and VO.

Every camera move was designed & crafted in detail, to be able to merge the reality with digital succesfully.

Once that was locked, we traveled to France & shot different beautiful iconic destinations, to then include the giant creams with the help of 3d and VFX.

We then created the digital 3d asset with realistic shaders, then some stillframes and camera proposals to define how to show the product in the different videos.​​​​​​

Once we had the digital product ready, we created some rough proof of concept videos to design the vfx pipeline and make sure our techniques were gonna work with the final footage.

Since the product is very reflective and acts as a mirror, in some shots we ended up replacing the real environment by a digital 3d environment. That way, the product would perfectly reflect its surroundings.

And we also had to make sure that the cameraman was appearing in the reflection dynamically.
